Where are carbon monoxide alarms required in Manitoba?
A CO alarm is required in the same room as a permanently installed fuel-burning appliance, in a room adjacent to and within 5 m of one, and centrally located on every storey adjacent to a storage garage.
Conditions and exceptions
- The requirement is triggered by a fuel-burning appliance or an attached storage garage.
- The 5 m adjacency is measured to the room containing the appliance.
- Storage garage coverage is per storey, not one alarm for the building.
